Overview of the Display Manager dialog and tools. These tools have similar behavior to Order AutoCAD MEP layer states and layer snapshots in base AutoCAD. Display Manager settings are unique to the drawing, so they should be defined in your templates. In a drawing, an object includes display property settings that respond to the current display configurations. For example, the Electrical display configuration turns on all electrical objects, and turns off mechanical and plumbing objects.
The Mechanical display configuration turns on HVAC and piping objects, and turns off lights, receptacles and other electrical devices. In a combined file, this saves the steps of having to turn layers on and off repeatedly in a Order AutoCAD MEP.
Display configurations, representation sets, and object display properties are all defined in object files, as well as templates, but it is the current drawing that ultimately has control. To review the Display Manager, from the ribbon, select it from the Manage tab. Each drawing is broken down into three sections: Configurations, Sets, and Order AutoCAD MEP by Object. Configurations are the highest control point and are what is set for a drawing's view.
Each configuration has two key settings: Configuration, which controls what set is shown, based on point of view; and Cut Plane, which controls what appears vertically in a drawing, and where the plan view occurs. If the Display by elevation feature which is controlled by the Application Options is enabled, items above or below the specified display range will not be visible.
The Sets area controls representation sets. This panel shows which objects can be manipulated by a display configuration, based on points of view. For example, cable tray and fittings can be controlled, not in 1 line and 2 line displays, but in the plan representations. Sets controls what is seen in the active set, which in the case of the cable tray, is MEP Design - Plan.
The Display Options tab allows you to filter objects in a view by classification, so if you deselect a particular MvPart or Device type, it will not be displayed when that configuration is active, regardless of how many layers you attempt to turn on or off.
The last Display Manager item Order AutoCAD MEP Representation by Object. This is the bottom line of display control, and the simplest to understand. Select the item first; you will see representations along the side, and sets across the top. In order for an object to be turned on or off by a configuration, the combination of Order AutoCAD MEP and Set must be checked.
For example, pick the Plan line. Scroll across until you see the checked column. The highlighted column represents the active set being used by the configuration; if an item is checked, the duct is visible AND editable. If it Order AutoCAD MEP not checked, it Order AutoCAD MEP be edited; that is the critical difference. In addition, any edits made to the plan representation will also apply to another set that has its box checked.
Expand Duct, and pick Plan. So the "point of view" will show, for any of these configurations that use these sets, the way they are set here. Don't be. This is one of the tough things to figure out, but it can also save the most Order AutoCAD MEP when creating Order AutoCAD MEP views.
